For the night sky photographer, small towns everywhere are a source of light pollution and potential frustration. That said, sometimes the glow of a town on the horizon adds a touch of life to an image or inspires a different way to see the light. On this occasion, I turned the though upside down, viewing all the lights in the sky — the stars, the Milky Way, Jupiter, the constellations — as extensions of the lights of La Veta, Colorado. Suddenly, La Veta was a very big place with an expansive aura and influence.
